    Recently, BYD released its second-generation blade battery and supporting flash charging technology in Shenzhen.Several sets of data at the press conference triggered heated discussions in the industry:

    10% → 70%, only 5 minutes

    10% → 97%, fully charged in 9 minutes

    -30℃ low temperature environment, only 3 minutes longer than normal temperature

    This means that new energy vehicles are truly entering an era: "charging speed is close to refueling speed."

    But while the industry is excited, a question is becoming increasingly clear: As charging becomes faster and faster, what is the safety bottom line of power batteries?

    Fast charging era: battery safety challenges are escalating

    Under high-rate charge and discharge conditions, any subtle defects inside the battery may be amplified.For example: tiny leakage paths in the cell packaging, extremely small leakage of electrolyte, and hidden sealing hazards in the PACK structure. These problems may be difficult to reveal under normal working conditions, but in high-power fast charging cycles, long-term accumulation may become safety hazards.

    Therefore, for power battery manufacturing companies: true safety does not start with vehicle testing, but with the first inspection process of battery cell production.The ability to detect technology is becoming a key infrastructure in the power battery industry chain.

    Hirays RGA mass spectrometry technology:

    Building a “detection defense line” for power battery safety

    As a leading detection technology company in China, Hirays has deployed quadrupole mass spectrometry detection technology (RGA) long before the advent of the fast charging era.

    Focusing on the needs of the power battery industry, Hirays launched the HM-200/HM-210 online mass spectrometer analyzer and HM-310 normal pressure electrolyte leak detector, forming a complete detection system covering battery cell production → PACK assembly → finished product inspection.

    The earlier the problem is detected, the lower the manufacturing cost and the higher the safety guarantee.

    1 Battery core manufacturing stage

    HM-200/210Online mass spectrometer

    In the production process of power batteries, cell leakage is an important factor affecting product reliability.

    Hai RuisiHM-200 / HM-210The online mass spectrometer analyzer, based on quadrupole mass spectrometry technology, can perform highly sensitive identification and quantitative analysis of electrolyte molecules, and accurately identify potential leakage risks during the cell production stage.Here's how it works:

    Ionization: The ion source ionizes the collected gas sample into positive ions and sends them to the quadrupole mass analyzer.

    Screening: In the quadrupole field composed of DC and radio frequency voltage, only ions with a specific mass-to-charge ratio can pass through stably, and the remaining ions are filtered out, realizing "ion screening".

    Detection: The screened ions reach the detector and generate an electrical signal that is positively correlated with the concentration, thereby accurately calculating the content of the electrolyte's characteristic components and detecting leakage risks in a timely manner.

    These two devices are targeted at different application scenarios:

    HM-200: Comes with a touch screen, easy to operate, can be used with an independent cavity or desktop test platform, and is suitable for R&D verification or small batch testing needs;

    HM-210: No touch screen design, specially built for industrial integration, can be seamlessly connected to automated test platforms or production line equipment to meet the online inspection needs of large-scale mass production.

    03 Dual mode intelligent detection

    Original negative pressure rapid detection/Dual modes of normal pressure cycle detection, integrating multiple misjudgment prevention algorithms, not only ensure detection accuracy, but also meet the efficiency requirements of different scenarios:

    The response speed is fast, the test time of a single device is short, and it perfectly adapts to the rhythm of high-speed production lines;

    Standardized automation interfaces are reserved to quickly connect to existing automated production lines and reduce the threshold for transformation;

    Supports docking with MES systems to realize real-time storage, query and full-link traceability of detection data, assisting the intelligent upgrade of production management.

    "Full-process security protection"

    rely onRGAMass spectrometry detection technology, Hirays has built a full-process detection solution for power batteries: battery cell production →PACKAssembly → Finished product inspection, through high-sensitivity leakage detection, risks can be identified in a timely manner at key production nodes, and defective products can be intercepted and entered into the next process.

    For new energy vehicle companies, this not only means more stable manufacturing quality, but also means: more reliable product safety.

    A consensus in the fast charging era

    With the introduction of technologies such as second-generation blade batteries, the power battery industry is entering the era of "high energy density + ultra-fast charging".

    In this era, the industry is forming a new consensus: battery safety not only depends on materials and structures, but also depends on the detection capabilities during the manufacturing process.

    In the future, Hirays will continue to develop mass spectrometry detection technology, provide more accurate, efficient and reliable detection solutions for the power battery industry, and work with industry partners to promote the high-quality development of the new energy vehicle industry.
